When it comes to the big day, you will have a lot of things to do before it can even happen. One thing you will need to do is choose the right look for your bridesmaids dresses. Many bridesmaids secretly complain about the look and color of their dress so choosing the right color and look of what they will wear will make everyone happy. After all, your bridesmaids do a lot for you before and during your wedding day so you should do what you can to make them look good on this day of yours. Here are 12 tips for choosing the right look for the bridesmaids dresses.

Be a Great Friend

They are your friends so be good to them. Invite them to your bridal party and then turn them into your fashion victims. One thing to avoid is dressing them in something ugly just to make you look better. Also, dont choose something that will make them look big or sexless.

Decide on the Right Feel

Make sure to take your time when choosing their dresses. Choose something to compliment your gown. Although you dont want them looking exactly like you, choose something that has the same feel but not the same or too similar.

Know that One Size Doesnt Fit All

Look for a style that will flatter the different shapes and sizes of all of your bridesmaids. Remember, empire waists and A-line usually look good on all body types.

Mix Things Up

You can either mix things up a bit or select a fabric or color and then let each bridesmaid choose a style that suits her best.

Choose Pretty Colors

First, considering all of their complexions and hair colors, choose a color that you like and one that you think would look good on each one of them. For example, brighter colors are more flattering while pastels might look good on your friends with fair complexions although they will be too distracting on darker complexions.

Choose something they will wear more than once

After all, you dont want to choose something for them that they wont want to wear ever again. This means also buying clothes for the reception as well. Make sure it is something they absolutely love as much as you do.

Pay for what they cant afford

Try to remember everyones financial situation. The usual cost for bridesmaid dresses is between $100 and $300 so if they cant afford the whole thing at the time and they absolutely love it as much as you do, cover the rest of the cost for them.

Ask them for their feedback

If you have more than four bridesmaids, dont take them all at once to go dress shopping. Instead take a few at a time and ask for their opinion. Getting their feedback will help you understand what they like.

Create a list

Write little notes beside each girls name about what you think would look good on them, how much you think they can afford to pay for their dress, and anything else you can think of to add to the list.

Reuse colors

Dark-colored dresses such as hunter green, black, and even navy will look great on all of the bridesmaids and will also look good at formal events after this one is over with.

Consider their comfort level

When it comes to strapless bridesmaids gowns or the type that they wont need a bra with, ask them if they are comfortable with this first.

Dont control everything

Try not to control everything and try not to do everything on your own. Ask your maid of honor or a responsible bridesmaid who you can trust to be in charge of purchasing the dresses.
