What to Bring To Your Bridal Appointment

What to Bring To Your Bridal Appointment

Attending your first bridal appointment can be intimidating! It’s the first time you’ll see yourself in a wedding dress, which is a big moment for a lot of brides, regardless of if that first dress ends up being the one. If you’re wondering what to expect at your appointment, we’re giving a list of the best things to bring so that you’re best prepared for your first appointment.

Inspiration and an Open Mind

Bring photos of dresses you’ve liked, whether you’ve got an entire Pinterest board or a few magazine clippings, bring them along and share them with your bridal consultant. This way, she has an idea of what your style is like, and can pull dresses you’ll like earlier on in the appointment. While we want to see your inspo photos, we also want to emphasize that it’s important to keep an open mind. Some brides come in with an idea of what they want, and end up falling in love with something completely different.

Underwear

When coming to your appointment, we recommend wearing nude or white underwear. This way, you don’t have anything that interferes with what you look like in the dress. Black or colored underwear can stand out, and you want to look as close to what you will on your wedding day for the best idea of what the dress will look like.

Guests

Bringing a small group of loved ones to help you choose your dress is always a good idea. You’ll love having a few trusted second opinions around to help you narrow down tough choices, and you’ll be glad they’re there to celebrate when you find the one! However, be picky about your guests—bringing too many, or bringing someone who doesn’t have your best interests at heart, can overpower your own opinion, which is the last thing you want!
